Brilliant gym, with a good choice of things to do whether it be classes or solo activities.

Wow how it's changed in the last year. Certainly not a family gym. As my son's are over 8 but under 15 not allowed in ladies with me or men's on their own! So called family change is disgusting. Was told 2 years ago they were doing it up. Still waiting. A member of staff told me recently she had no idea there were plans to sort it. Family shower in the ladies been broken for 6 weeks now. Always something with an out of order sign. Parking is stupid. Why can't they have a list of members registrations?? Much simpler than fining members. Pool often very dirty. Sick of mentioning it. Really wish I hadn't paid for a years membership. Can't take my kids and can't wait to leave.
Despite good classes, Total Fitness appear to be in collusion with Parkin Eye. I have ended up with a fine of 170 quid by overstaying on the 2 hour maximum limit and was advised to pay up by management. Very poor response to my complaint and little faith in the staffs ability to manage this issue.
I don't plan to renew my membership. I don't like a few things:- You pay for one-year membership and you cannot leave before even if you decide that you don't like the gym anymore.- If you forget your swimming suit they would not put it in 'lost and found', just goes to the bin.- The jogging track cannot be used for kids.- The swimming pool has a hundred of cheap plastic inflatables that can be lent only for classes but not for normal or leasure swimming.- The food or drink offers are not great.- If you book for a class it does not mean that you have a booked class; because they would not give a class if the number of people is small. But they don't bother to call you before to tell about cancellations.- They may give you 3 free day passes for friends or relatives, but you cannot use them in a short period of time, you have to wait for longer.I only like one thing about this gym: it is big.
