It's cheap. It's dated . Basic breakfast. It's a bed for the night and a breakfast in the morning. Needs some renovations doing.
Friendly helpful staff. Quiet location, with parking. Good sized rooms. Good choice for breakfast.
Had a shock ! Thinking at this lodge was going to be nice clean and inviting ,I was wrong , beds old and springs were poping up all over , sheet were clean enough but the valence all stained bathroom not clean floors filthy furniture old and thick with dust curtains filthy no one there to greet you had to phone number on desk for someone to come then no hot breakfast only continental and no staff it's a help yourself thing.Room on the ground floor had a shared bathroom with no light and no window plus it was the disabled one .Would never recommend this lodge to anyone.
What do you want for 20quid a night? There was a bed, there was cooked breakfast, the lady was pleasant in our experience. Your not going to the Ritz, don't expect gold plated floors.Wouldn't go with a young family but would suffice the needs of a cash-strapped traveller.Could use a bit of TLC and a good scrub admittedly but, again, what do you expect for the money?
Stayed here 2 nights. Yes it's run down and needs a refurb but what do u expect for the price! Proprietor was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but filled a hole and more hot drinks and toast were offered. It wasn't the cleanest of places as mentioned by others. If u don't feel you can slum it for a night or so ... Stay somewhere else !
